Bata, lord of Saka and hero of the famous tale of Two Brothers, is a deity of the egyptian pantheon whose animalís nature remains difficult to define. Indeed, he seems to have originally assume the shape of a ram before being turned into a bull during the New Kingdom. However, a new examination of the documentation commonly assign to this god joined with the study of epigraphic sources related to his animal shape lead us to conclude that he has most likely never taken the appearance of a ram but that he has always been a bull.
